Session Chairing at the ASM

Session chair volunteers will receive complimentary early bird registration and host suite privileges (including breakfast and lunch) on the day(s) you volunteer.

Session Chair duties include:

  • Meeting the speaker prior to his or her presentation.

  • Introducing and thanking the speaker.

  • Overseeing sessions, handling attendee questions and addressing any issue with the assistance of the room monitor and/or show management

  • New! Mandatory completion of ASM25 session chair training, which will be available on zoom. A link to the session chair training will be provided to you in April 2025.

Important details:

  • All volunteers must be registered for ASM25. You must also reserve your sessions. Following registration and submission of the volunteer application form, the ODA will notify successful volunteer applicants.

  • Early-bird registration fees will be refunded after the ASM. Additional registration fees, including the Best Value Package (BVA, BVB) and hands-on event workshops, are at your expense and not covered by the volunteer early bird registration refund.

  • When completing your application form, please ensure you rank the sessions you want to chair in order of preference.

  • The ODA will make every effort to assign volunteers to their preferred session(s), however, we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate all preferences.
